Our Story
It all began in 2012, when Marc Laurens, Kimberly Laurens, and a small group of passionate fishing enthusiasts came together in Heist-op-den-Berg. What started as a casual gathering of anglers along the local waterways soon grew into something much bigger — a formal association with a shared vision of building community through sport, recreation, and friendship.
In its earliest days, M & M operated as a visclub (fishing club), with members borrowing spaces for meetings and sharing equipment among themselves. The spirit of camaraderie was evident from the very beginning, and it wasn't long before the club began to expand. Darts emerged as a natural second activity — a social, competitive sport that could be enjoyed indoors during the colder months when fishing was less appealing.
As the years passed, M & M evolved beyond its fishing and darts roots. Community events, barbecues, holiday celebrations, and charity fundraisers became regular fixtures on the calendar, drawing participants far beyond the original circle. Today, the club serves over 100 active members and continues to grow each year.
Registered as an ASBL/VZW (non-profit association) under Belgian law, M & M is committed to reinvesting every surplus back into its facilities, programs, and community initiatives. The journey that Marc and Kimberly started in 2012 continues to bear fruit, and we invite everyone who shares our values to become part of the M & M family.
